Historic Berrima Village

Berrima Village - The Jewel in the Crown

You will find Berrima village in the beautiful Southern Highlands in NSW approximately half way between Canberra and Sydney.

It is a small, peaceful village founded in 1834 and has a unique collection of unspoilt Georgian sandstone homes and historic public buildings from the 19th century.

There are many things to see and do in Berrima. You can visit our historic buildings and museum and learn about colonial history, you can take a walk along the beautiful Wingecarribee river and perhaps be lucky enough to see a platypus! The village has a wonderful park with a fantastic play area for the kids. It is also the place where you will find craftsmen at work. Visit the Art of Bookbinding and the Berrima Village Pottery, both work on site.  Add to this many fine restaurants, great accommodation and Berrima truly is the Jewel in the Crown of the Southern Highlands.

Come and visit us…..stay a while……you will not be disappointed.
